Hertz Rental Alerts Terms and Conditions
The Short Message Service (SMS) is a means of sending short messages to and from mobile devices. SMS are often referred to as "text messages" and that is how they are referred to here. Please read the following terms and conditions regarding Hertz Rental Alerts:
Text messages are distributed via third party mobile network providers and, as a result, Hertz 24/7 cannot control certain factors relating to message delivery. Depending on the recipient's mobile provider service, it may not be possible to transmit the text message to the recipient successfully.
Hertz 24/7 does not claim or guarantee availability or performance of this service, including liability for transmission delays or message failures. Five messages per day per request may be sent. An additional five messages per day per request may be sent if there is a change to the reservation. If you opt out of Hertz Rental Alerts by replying STOP (see below), you will be sent one additional text message confirming your opt-out.
The following text messages can be sent for a particular reservation:
- Confirmation of enrollment
- Confirmation of a reservation
- Cancellation of a reservation
- Advise vehicle details prior to pick up
- Advise change to vehicle details prior to pick up
- Approve / Deny a reservation made under a business account
- New invoice
- Notification of expiring Driver’s License
The following text messages will be sent resulting from a change to your reservation:
- Modification of reservation details
- Modification of vehicle details
To opt-in, please text YES to 53952. You may receive 5 messages per day per request. You can also opt-in by updating your Hertz Rental Alerts preference in 'My Account' in the 'Account Details' tab.
To opt-out at any time, send STOP to 53952. To receive more information, send HELP to 53952. You can also opt-out by updating your Hertz Rental Alerts preference in 'My Account' in the 'Account Details' tab.
Change of mobile phone number
If you choose to change the mobile phone number on your Hertz 24/7 profile, you will need to opt in and respond to the Text opt in message again. If you change the mobile phone number to a non-US number you will automatically be opted out of receiving messages by Text.
Hertz 24/7 does not charge a fee for this service. However, we are not responsible for any charges from a person’s service provider that may result from our providing this service. Message and data rates may apply. It is the user's responsibility to check with their individual carrier, as other charges may apply. Hertz 24/7 assumes no responsibility for charges incurred by signing up for this text-messaging service. Any text-messaging fees that you incur will be billed on your individual wireless bill.
At any time, you can get additional help by texting the word HELP to the short code 53952 in response to any Hertz 24/7 message via Text from your mobile device. Or you can call 1-877-654-4400.
Compatible carriers include: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Alltel, U.S. Cellular, and Cellular One.
